In Lviv, a bonus was taken from a bus driver for not opening a ramp for a passenger in a wheelchair

In Lviv, the driver who did not open the ramp in the bus when boarding/disembarking a passenger in a wheelchair was reprimanded and the premium was reduced by UAH 13,000. It became known about the incident that happened recently in bus #47A from an application to the city’s Hotline. In the communal motor vehicle enterprise No. 1, it was noted that the driver violated labor discipline and the job description with such actions.

“After the introduction of cashless fare payment, city public transport drivers receive an official transparent salary. Therefore, the financial penalty will now be felt by the driver. After all, they can no longer compensate for the under-received funds by pocketing cash from the proceeds.

Our position is tough: in such cases, we will punish drivers with hryvnias until each of them realizes that their direct duty is to help a passenger in a wheelchair get into and out of the cabin.

By the way, in October, some drivers received training on proper communication and interaction with people with limited mobility. Drivers, in particular, were taught in practice how to help passengers in wheelchairs use public transport. It is planned to continue such training next year,” said Oleg Zabarilo, head of the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the LMR.

We will remind you that earlier in Lviv a driver was punished who did not allow a person with a disability to enter the bus by closing the door in front of him. Then the driver was reprimanded and deprived of the monthly bonus.
