Today, September 17, in Lviv, in the Park of Culture and Recreation named after B. Khmelnytskyi, Plastovy year 2023 was solemnly opened.
This is a traditional annual celebration of the beginning of the new Plast year after an active camp summer. This year, it is held under the slogan: “Wherever we are, we will return here.” The members of the branch of the national scout organization were greeted by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
“Now Plast has many camps and it is right. Because we all need an education. We live in difficult times. Plast revealed itself in a new way. Today, many platoon soldiers are fighting, many have been wounded, and we have lost many.
You, as leaders, should be an example for your friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Because if you’re a platoon, you’re a leader,” said Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
Also, on behalf of the city community, Mayor Andriy Sadovy presented thanks to three plastuns of the Lviv city youth public organization “Stanytsia Lviv Plastu – National Scout Organization of Ukraine”. So, for their devotion to the national idea and plat ideals, the implementation of important initiatives, and active volunteering for the needs of the Ukrainian army, thanks were given to: platsun-senior Marta Gorecha, senior platsun hetman virlitsia Zoryana Genyk and senior platsun Ostap Zhovkivskyi.
In addition, among the events of the opening of the Plast year are active field competitions for the smallest participants and a charity fair to collect funds for the needs of the military.
