In Lviv, heating temperatures are reduced during the day and raised in the evening

Due to warm daytime temperatures reaching +15 degrees, the municipal enterprise LMKP Lvivteploenerho has temporarily reduced the parameters of the heat supply delivered to residents’ flats. In the evening, the heating supply temperature is planned to be increased, as nights remain cool.

«It is quite warm outside during the day at the moment, so we are supplying heat to homes at a lower temperature, and towards the evening we will be increasing it. In addition, residents can regulate the heat supply themselves directly in their own building — in the morning, you can close the valve and cut off the heat, then open it again in the evening so the building does not cool down, as the nights are still chilly» — explained by LMKP Lvivteploenerho.

The heat supply organisation reminds residents that they are entitled to manage the heat supply independently at the building’s entry point. The rules for regulation are as follows:

  • if the outdoor air temperature rises above +6…+8°C — the heat supply to the building is shut off entirely (either the heat meter or the isolating and regulating valve on the supply pipeline is closed);
  • if the temperature drops below +6…+8°C — the heat supply is restored;
  • partial closure of the heat meter or the isolating and regulating valve is not permitted.

According to Lvivteploenerho, more than 96% of residential consumers already have whole-building meters installed. This enables residents to set a comfortable temperature independently, reduce their heating costs, and remain free from dependence on decisions made by the heat supply organisation.
