The traffic accident happened on December 14, around 7:00 p.m., at the intersection of Vuletska and Zelena streets in Lviv.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Nissan Rogue, a 27-year-old man from Lviv, hit two local women aged 61 and 62 who were crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the road accident, elderly women were injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of the Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
