Today, April 28, Lviv commemorated the 77th anniversary of the tragic events of the Vistula operation – the forced deportation of about 150,000 Ukrainians from Lemkivshchyna, Kholmshchyna, Nadsiania, and Pidlyashsia.
For example, flowers and willow branches were placed at the monument to the Ukrainians deported from the territory of Zakerzonia in 1944-1951, which is located in the square on Sventsytskogo Street. Afterwards, the fathers held an ecumenical memorial service for the victims of deportations.
The first deputy mayor of Lviv, Andriy Moskalenko, joined the event from the city community.
