In Lviv, flower beds are being arranged after winter and new plantings are being planned. As Oksana Lutsko, deputy head of the Department of Ecology of the LMR, said, it is planned to plant beds of perennials and a small number of annuals in the parks in the spring.
So, new flowerbeds will appear in six city parks: named after I. Frank, “Pogulyanka”, “High Castle”, “700-year”, Zamarstynivskyi and Sknylivskyi.
And they want to create a so-called “Moorish” lawn at the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. In the place where the tulips will bloom in May, they plan to sow a lawn with wildflowers and herbs, including poppies, cornflowers, and other plants.
“This is a limited area below the information center, which is currently being completed. It will be specially mowed at the end of summer so that all the wildflowers and grasses will bloom, creating a cozy corner of the Ukrainian field.
The Department of Ecology has already discussed this idea with Andriy Lesyuk, the chief architect of this space. He supported the creation of such a site. “Green Lviv” LKP, which takes care of the Memorial, will bring the idea to life,” said the city planning department of the LMR.
We will remind you that last year in Lviv, a record number of varietal Dutch tulips were planted – 125 thousand. And also they arranged 55 new arrays with perennials.
