An attempted smuggling of undeclared goods was prevented by border guards and customs officers at the Krakivets checkpoint.
A 65-year-old resident of the capital was travelling from Poland to Ukraine by an IVECO truck. During the control, the driver said that he was transporting used clothes.
Based on information from operatives about possible illegal import of goods, the truck was sent for additional inspection. During the inspection, border guards together with customs officers found 14.6 thousand kg of new clothes and shoes of well-known brands.
Customs officers drew up a report on this fact. The goods were seized with an estimated value of UAH 20 million.
