The traffic accident occurred on October 5, around 2:00 p.m., in the village of Popelya, Drohobytsky district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Daewoo Nubira, a 71-year-old resident of Drohobych, collided with a Daewoo Lanos driven by a 76-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district.
As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Daewoo Lanos, a 63-year-old resident of the district, was injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
