Route No. 5 in Sheptytskyi Temporarily Stops Operation
In Sheptytskyi, route No. 5 ‘Bus Station – Epicenter Shopping Center – Bus Station’ will temporarily not operate.
City Council Decision
On March 25, members of the Sheptytskyi City Council’s executive committee decided to terminate the contract with the carrier ‘Auto-Line LLC’. This decision followed a request from the company’s head, Andrii Turkoliak, who stated the unprofitability of route No. 5 – daily earnings did not exceed 1500 hryvnias, while fuel costs reached 1200 hryvnias.
Future Plans
Regarding the announcement of a new tender for this route, Deputy Mayor Marta Vashchuk commented that its conduction is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’s resolution dated December 3, 2008, No. 1081, and requires the mandatory designation of an operating body on a competitive basis. If there are no applicants for the operating body, the city council will conduct the tender independently, as has been the case for the past two years.
The tender for defining the operating body is planned to be announced in May, and until then, route No. 5 will not operate.
