Hurricane-force winds leave 72 settlements without power in Lviv region – emergency crews on the job

On the morning of April 10, powerful winds and a snowstorm caused widespread damage to power lines across multiple districts in the Lviv region.

According to updated data from Lvivoblenergo, as of 12:00, 72 settlements are without electricity. Of these, 28 have no power at all, and 44 are partially disconnected.

The initial report at 08:00 indicated 17 fully and 33 partially cut-off settlements. To restore power, 23 emergency response teams have been deployed. A total of 98 specialists are working with 30 units of specialized equipment, and 86 power engineers are involved in around-the-clock restoration efforts.

Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, urged residents to observe safety rules. In particular, people should stay at least 8 meters away from downed power lines due to the deadly risk. If fallen trees or injured individuals are observed, emergency services should be contacted immediately via 101, 112, or 103.
