The Lviv OVA together with the Subcarpathian Voivodeship and the Novojavoriv Museum of Local History organized a holiday for children who, together with their relatives, were forced to leave their homes due to military actions and today live in Rzeszów, in the Republic of Poland.
“Nikolai without borders” is an annual cross-border event organized by Lviv OVA together with partners.
This year, as part of the event, gifts were handed over to immigrant children and a master class was held for them on painting a traditional Yavorivka toy. More than 50 children from Buchi, Irpin, Kharkiv and Lviv Oblast took part in the event.
Homemade toys will decorate the children’s temporary homes.
“We are trying to warm little hearts by passing on the living traditions of the Lviv region, which unite generations and are an inseparable link between Ukrainians all over the world, and also introduce the culture and intangible heritage of Ukraine to children from our friendly Poland,” the department noted internationally – technical assistance and international cooperation of the Lviv Oblast.
