During a class at school No. 49, a firearms instructor inadvertently damaged his palm with a device designed to produce a noise effect. The man suffered burns from gunpowder gases.
The instructor went to St. Luke’s Hospital, where doctors provided him with medical care and released him. The man did not need hospitalisation.
“At the time of the incident, this instructor was not teaching children. Another colleague was teaching the class. The tenth-graders were not injured, they were just frightened by the loud sound. We have set up a special commission to find out all the circumstances of the situation,” said Andriy Zakalyuk, head of the Education Department of the Lviv City Council.
