In the Lviv region, there is a gradual increase in water levels in rivers due to the thaw.
According to the hydrometeorological network, up to 4 mm of precipitation fell in the Lviv region over the past day. This resulted in a slight rise in water levels in the Dniester basin rivers by 1 – 10 cm. On the lowland rivers of the Sian and Western Bug basins, water level fluctuations from -10 cm to +7 cm were observed during the day.
Most of the rivers retained an ice cover, and on some sections, water on ice was noted. *The next day, due to the thaw, a gradual increase in water levels and weakening of ice phenomena will continue in the rivers of the region,* – according to the hydrological situation change warning No. Hc-5 dated 05.01.2026.
As of 08:00 on February 7, the snow cover height in the mountains of Lviv region at Mt. Turka and Mt. Slavsko was 1 – 9 cm. *There is an avalanche danger warning No. Al-13 dated 06.02.2026.*
