On January 3 at 8:43 a.m., the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the village of Hnizdychiv in the Stryi District. The fire broke out in a brick farm building with a slate roof, measuring 10×6 meters.
Firefighters from the towns of Zhydachiv, Khodoriv, and a volunteer firefighting team from Hnizdychiv promptly responded to the call. Upon their arrival, the roof and ceiling of the building were already engulfed in flames, posing a risk of the fire spreading to nearby structures.
Inside the farm building were goats, most of which managed to escape on their own. However, one goat remained trapped inside the burning structure. Firefighters rescued the animal, pulling it safely from the flames.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the fire crews, the fire was contained by 9:25 a.m. and fully extinguished by 10:31 a.m. Their efforts prevented the complete destruction of the farm building and stopped the fire from spreading to a nearby residential house and another farm structure.
The firefighting operation involved nine rescue workers and two fire engines from the State Emergency Service, along with four personnel and one vehicle from the volunteer fire team.
