This morning at 07:25 a.m., it was reported that black smoke was coming from the balcony of a 2nd floor apartment. The incident occurred in a high-rise building at 62 Vyhody Street in Lviv.
The firefighters who arrived at the scene donned special respiratory and visual protection equipment and went on a reconnaissance mission to find the centre of the fire. The apartment was filled with toxic combustion products.
As it turned out, a pillow was on fire in one of the rooms.
Firefighters quickly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading. At 07:40, the fire was extinguished.
Seven rescuers and two units of special equipment were involved in the firefighting operations.
No one was injured in the incident.

– do not smoke in bed;
– monitor the condition and serviceability of the power grid;
– do not leave electrical appliances on when leaving the premises;
– do not leave young children unattended and do not allow them to play with matches;
– avoid overloading the power grid, do not switch on high-power household appliances at the same time.
In the event of a fire, call the fire brigade immediately by calling 101, as every minute counts.
