60,000 bulbs of different varieties of tulips are headed from the Netherlands to Lviv, most of which will decorate the central part of the city. Such a gift was given to Lviv by a Dutch businessman, with the assistance of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Emil Bernard de Sevren Jaquet, and through the mediation of Lviv’s business ombudsman Serhiy Kiral.
“I would also like to thank our representative of Ukraine to the European Union, Vsevolod Chentsov, because thanks to him we managed to establish contacts. While still the ambassador of Ukraine in the Netherlands, he established relations with one of the honorary consuls. He is a Dutchman, an entrepreneur who had already done a similar project in Kyiv before the war. This time it was proposed to do such a project in Lviv as a gesture of support for Ukraine and Ukrainian cities,” said Serhiy Kiral.
Most of the plants are around the old town with special attention to the Opera House and Svobody Avenue. And also in several parks and a little in the districts. After all, 60,000 is really a lot!” – said Oleksandra Sladkova, head of the department of ecology and natural resources of the LMR.
