With prostheses instead of legs and an unbreakable spirit: a veteran from Lviv region brought a powerful generator to the front

Petro Buriak, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, has experienced clinical death five times, lost his legs and spent about a month in a coma.

Today, on April 24, at the request of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the Strong Life NGO handed over a 64 kW generator that will allow the entire stabilization center, where the wounded are being treated, to be powered at zero. The generator will be delivered personally by Petro Buriak, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and now a volunteer, who underwent prosthetic legs at the Superhumans Center.

“The full-scale war caught Mr. Petro in Spain. He had a peaceful life, a stable job, and did not serve in the army, but he immediately left everything and went to defend Ukraine as a sapper with the 24th Brigade named after King Danylo.

After being blown up by an enemy mine, Mr. Petro survived three weeks of coma and 5 clinical deaths. Then he underwent difficult treatment, prosthetics on both legs, rehabilitation and today our countryman is going to the front line as a volunteer to deliver a powerful generator to the soldiers of the 28th Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

Mr. Petro, you are a true Hero and a huge motivator for us all. I bow low to you for everything you have done and continue to do for our country and people,” said the head of the region Maxim Kozitsky.

The generator was transferred to replace the equipment destroyed by the occupiers.

“This station is automatic, with the possibility of autostart, control, and has three-phase and single-phase outputs. The power plant is mounted on a platform, which makes it mobile and transportable. It can be easily moved from one place to another. It is an indispensable tool in the field,” said Lyubomyr Dychko, head of Strong Life.

Petro Buriak, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and founder of the Unbreakable Warriors charity foundation, says that after rehabilitation and prosthetics, he decided to establish a charity foundation to help other Ukrainian soldiers.

“Now I am going to the front for the fourth time to deliver what the guys are waiting for. I am driven not just by patriotism, but by the fact that my brothers are at the front and need help. I can’t stay at home when they are having a hard time.

I thank everyone who helps Ukraine! I thank our volunteers, the Americans, all our allies, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together to victory! Glory to Ukraine!” Petro Buriak said.

The head of the region also thanked the Superhumans Center for the help that enabled Petro to walk again.

“Lviv region continues to be a center of rehabilitation, prosthetics and psychological support for war veterans. This is one of the many examples of how Ukrainians unite to help their defenders. We believe that together we will definitely win. We are working for this in all areas. For example, we recently transferred UAH 100 million from the regional budget to buy drones for military units!” he emphasized.
