In the last 24 hours, the fire services of the Lviv region faced a series of fires caused by the ignition of dry grass. A total of 13 such incidents were recorded, leading to the destruction of over 13,000 square meters of vegetation, including local flora and fauna.
Fires occurred in various districts of the region: in the Lviv district, rescuers extinguished fires in the villages of Drozdovichi, Gorodzhiv, Kryvichi, and Khorosno. Four cases were registered in the Drohobych district, among which a fire broke out twice in the village of Pidbuzh. Sambir and Yavoriv districts also suffered from fires, similar incidents were recorded in the Stryi district.
The State Emergency Service of the Lviv region takes this problem seriously, urging citizens to stop the practice of arson, which can easily get out of control and lead to large-scale fires. The call is reinforced with warnings about serious fines, ranging from 3,060 UAH for citizens to 21,420 UAH for officials.
In case of detecting arson, citizens must immediately inform the fire service or the police, even if the arsonist is a known person. Unity and mutual assistance are critically important to prevent similar disasters in the future and to protect natural ecosystems.
Remember: only by working together can we save our environment from irreversible destruction!
