Families whose children are starting Year 1 this year can apply for state assistance under the “School Starter Pack” programme. The initiative of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been in place for the second year and is intended to ease the preparation of first-year pupils for school.
Under the programme, each family is entitled to receive 5 thousand hryvnias to purchase clothing, footwear, school supplies and other essential items for the child.
According to the relevant services, in the Lviv region since the beginning of August families of almost 12 thousand first-year pupils have already made use of this support. Parents who have not yet submitted an application are advised to do so in order to receive the payment before the start of the academic year.
