A group of 39 children of fallen defenders, prisoners of war, missing servicemen, veterans, as well as children with disabilities caused by the war, has set off from Lviv region to France. A two-week holiday in French camps has been organised for them.
The trip became possible thanks to many years of cooperation between the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Occitanie Region, the city of Montpellier and the public organisation “European Shelter”.
Psychologists and interpreters have travelled with the children aged 8–13 and will accompany the group, help with communication and provide emotional support.
A full 14-day programme has been prepared for the participants, including trips to the sea and the mountains, so that the children can rest, recover and temporarily escape from the realities of war.
The project has been running for the fifth year in a row. During this time, 345 children from Lviv region have had health-improving stays in French camps, the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Lviv Regional State Administration reported.
