
Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University has ranked among the top three pedagogical universities in Ukraine according to the results of the academic ranking “Top-200 Ukraine 2026”. In the overall list of the country’s higher education institutions, the university took 73rd place with a rating index of 32.01.
The “Top-200 Ukraine 2026” ranking was traditionally compiled by the Centre for International Projects “Euroeducation” together with the international expert group IREG Observatory. At Drohobych Pedagogical University, they note that this result confirms the high level of the institution’s educational, research and international activity, which enables it to compete with the country’s leading universities.
The methodology of this year’s ranking was aligned with international assessment approaches. Significant weight was given to indicators of universities’ participation in the global rankings QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education, data from the Scopus scientometric database, as well as institutions’ contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Among the factors that secured the high standing of Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University are cited strong research performance, active international cooperation and academic mobility, participation in international educational and research programmes, as well as the implementation of initiatives in the field of sustainable development and social responsibility.
According to the ranking’s compilers, the evaluation was carried out using a comprehensive methodology that included six international and four national indicators. Experts took into account universities’ participation in the Erasmus+ programme, research productivity and citation of scholars’ works, the results of research projects, as well as the outcomes of accreditation reviews by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
Drohobych Pedagogical University’s inclusion among the top three leaders of Ukraine’s teacher-training institutions is seen as confirmation that the institution successfully combines long-standing academic traditions with modern educational approaches and innovative research. For prospective students, this is an additional indication of the university’s attractiveness as a place to obtain a pedagogical education.
