The event was timed to the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer.
As the youth and sports department of the Lviv OVA said, the third event within the framework of the “Dialogues about victories” project brought together volunteers who stood up for the defense of our state in the most difficult times, and young people who seek to understand and honor their contribution to the common cause of defense and development of Ukraine.
The following came to the meeting:
Olga Bishchuk – military servicewoman, public activist, psychologist;
Andriy Kaspshishak – head of the “Spadshchyna” OUM in 2016-2021, serviceman of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022-2023;
Andriy Lazorko – head of the Lviv Recruit Center of Azov;
Viktor Bishchuk is a journalist, ex-serviceman of the 103rd brigade of the TrO, who was the moderator of the meeting.
As Andrii Kaspshishak noted, youth organizations that are engaged in patriotic education and in particular military-patriotic schools should promote and help prepare the future generation of conscientious people.
“I was the head of the “Heritage” OUM, and it bore fruit: on February 24, 2022, I did not even hesitate to go and take up arms, I was partially prepared through participation in military and patriotic schools. We need to train a new generation of soldiers,” the serviceman added.
As noted by acting Taras Nazarkiv, Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Youth and Sports Administration, the participants had a unique opportunity to communicate with the heroes of our time, who put their efforts on the altar of freedom and independence of our country. The youth of Lviv region had a chance not only to hear stories about courage, self-sacrifice and heroism, but also to ask questions that concern every Ukrainian who aspires to see his country strong, indomitable and prosperous. This meeting was of great importance for the development of public consciousness and the education of future defenders of Ukraine. It is an important part of the process of realizing the importance of each contribution to the common cause of protecting the state and building a strong society.
“The meeting symbolically took place at the Soldier’s House on Taras Bobanych (Hammer) Street, who has been a friend of our youth and a volunteer since 2014, and also on the eve of Taras’s birthday.
We thank our youth who joined the event to honor together the bravery and dedication of Ukrainian volunteers who defended our Motherland. Your participation and active position are important for strengthening the spirit of the nation and supporting those who choose peace and freedom for Ukraine,” said Taras Nazarkiv.
