In the near future, 400 schoolchildren from 13 cities of western Ukraine will immerse themselves in the world of programming in Lviv Oblast

The eKids project is designed for teenagers aged 10-16. This is a great way to learn the basics of Scratch/Python using the curriculum of ERAM Ukraine, one of the leaders in the IT industry.

First of all, internally displaced children from different regions of Ukraine will be involved in the study.

Classes will be held live at UNICEF “Together” points and STEM centers in the cities of Berezne, Volodymyr, Drohobych, Lviv, Kalush, Sarny, Sambir, Stryi, Tyachiv, Chortkiv, Shumsk and Uzhhorod.

Such a joint initiative will help schoolchildren learn the basics of Scratch/Python programming, which is now important and necessary in modern life. Every day we observe how children try to program on their own, so when discussing the project we focused as much as possible on finding opportunities to involve young people in courses and trainings. With the support of the ERAM Ukraine company, trainers who will share knowledge and help schoolchildren master new knowledge and skills in an interactive way and with creative tasks have completed the training.

We are glad that yesterday it was possible to unite the project team, young people and volunteers within the walls of the Tech StartUp School. We would like to thank our partners EPAM Ukraine – for cooperation in the implementation of the project, UNICEF Ukraine – for assistance, Lviv Open Lab – for coming to support us on such an important day. We thank the educators of Sambor and Stryi for their assistance in holding the event. We thank the coaches who were able to come to the opening and support their future students: Ulyani Orynyk (Stry); Andriy Pidkov (Sambir); Sofia Savtsi, Maryana Kolodiy, Suzanne Zalipova, Denys Mudryk, Anastasia Labatiy, Anastasia Veretlynik, Vitaliy Omelyukha and Maksym Peshko – emphasized in Tech StartUp School

The project is implemented by EPAM Ukraine together with Tech StartUp School with the assistance of the Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine and the financial support of the Government of Japan.
