On 9 September, students of our Sokal community started an unusual flash mob in support of the military – kayaking on the Western Bug River
The initiator and organiser of the event was Rodion Dragan, a physical education teacher at Sokal Secondary School No. 4. He was among 80 physical education teachers in Ukraine who participated in the Klitschko Foundation’s Play for Equality project.
The flashmob was attended by 50 students (25 girls and 25 boys) with their mentors – teachers from four schools of the Sokal community: Sokal Lyceum No. 1 named after Oleg Romaniv, Sokal Secondary School No. 2, Sokal Secondary School No. 4 and Volytske Secondary School. The purpose of the charity flashmob was to remind everyone that the war continues and we must remember this and thank every soldier who defends our Ukraine. Kayaking also helps to improve the health of schoolchildren, promote physical activity and popularise sports: Chervonograd District Council (thanks to Andriy Poritsky and Halyna Kruk!), CARITAS Charitable Foundation (low bow to Father Yaroslav Kashchuk and thanks to Mariana Yaremchuk), many thanks to the creative and creative master of photography and video shooting Volodymyr Mikhalov and the online store “Goalpluspass” (the prizes are just super!!!). We thank the Department of Education, Youth and Sports and the Sokal City Council for their assistance in organising the event.
Deputy Mayor of Sokal Mykola Pasko and Head of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the Sokal City Council Lesya Kovalyshyn came to congratulate the participants of the first student glory. Students of the Sokal secondary school No. 5 together with their physical education teacher greeted the flash mob participants on the bridge near their school with flags of Ukraine.
Special thanks to the team of teachers who prepared delicious bograch, fried sausages and potatoes for all the participants of the flash mob.
And we sincerely thank the Klitschko Foundation# for new knowledge, new acquaintances and new opportunities! DFB-Stiftungen.
It was a real sporting event, where everyone who attended received pleasure, inspiration and positive energy! And now we hope that this flashmob will mark the beginning of a good tradition – student kayaking. We also believe that Ukraine’s victory is coming soon! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
