Over one hundred students of the Stepan Gzhytskyi Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies have completed the 48-hour course “Fundamentals of National Resistance”. The training for young people was organised by instructors from the municipal enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Regional Centre for Training the Population in National Resistance ‘Defence of Lviv Region'”.
The classes took place in the university sports hall, where seven training stations were set up. Students were shown examples of small arms, introduced to the main types of drones and their classification, taught basic first aid skills and informed about types of explosive devices. Overall, the course programme covers 14 training subjects.
According to the acting director of the “Defence of Lviv Region” centre, Yaroslav Mandruk, the training lasted almost two months, and the instructors conducted classes directly in the university classrooms.
As part of the cooperation between the centre and the university this year, over one thousand students were able to practise shooting in a multimedia shooting range, and more than three hundred people fully completed the 48-hour course “Fundamentals of National Resistance”. The university rector, Professor Ivan Parubchak, emphasised the importance of such training not only in wartime, but also after the end of hostilities, as the threat from Russia may persist.
Students who successfully completed the course programme receive state-standard certificates confirming the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the fundamentals of national resistance.
