Sheptytska City Council allocated 250,000 UAH to purchase a lift for students with disabilities.
The lift will be installed for fourth-grader Denys and third-grader Bohdan, who study at Gymnasium No. 2. They cannot walk or speak independently, so they use special equipment – an eye-tracker.
During the January session, the purchase of the lift was included in the Barrier-Free Program. Mayor Andriy Zalivskyi, along with Deputy Marta Vashchuk and Deputy Mykhailo Lapets, met with Denys’s mother Nataliya Kaminska and the director of the gymnasium Ruslana Vereskun.
“Purchasing a mobile lift is an immediate but temporary solution to the accessibility issue,” noted Nataliya Kaminska. She emphasized the need to build an external elevator. Andriy Zalivskyi assured that the elevator construction project would be included in the single public investment portfolio for 2027.
