With the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, 4 school buses for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were seized from the Sokal Territorial Community. With the beginning of the academic year, the problem of transporting schoolchildren to educational institutions became acute.
Deputies of the Sokal City Council at the session supported the decision to co-finance the purchase of school buses. Today, the Lviv Regional Military Administration distributed the first tranche to territorial communities – 25 school buses (in total, 126 “Shkolaryk” buses are planned to be handed over to communities in the Lviv Region).
“The Sokal community, the first in Chervonograd district, received a new “Shkolaryk”, its total cost is UAH 2.4 million, of which 50% is from the local budget and 50% is from the regional budget.
In total, the city council allocated 4.8 million hryvnias. for the purchase of four school buses, so we are waiting for the purchase of three more.
The new “Scholars” were purchased from JSC “Cherkasky Bus”. The safety of children when being transported to an educational institution, especially during the war, is above all else, so we direct all our efforts so that every child can get to school in comfortable conditions and return home after school,” said Mayor Serhiy Kasyan.
