In Lviv, full-time students of higher education institutions, professional pre-higher education institutions and vocational and technical education institutions can use city public transport with a 50% discount. With a personalised student LeoKart, a journey costs 11.5 UAH, and the option of a free transfer is also retained. LKP «Lvivavtodor» has reminded passengers about this.
The municipal enterprise has explained how to apply for a student card for the first time, and how to update your details or extend the validity period without issuing a new plastic card.
How to get a student LeoKart for the first time
Students who do not yet have a personalised transport card need to submit a set of documents and pay the cost of issuing it.
Required documents:
- original internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine or ID card;
- tax number (RNOKPP);
- extract from the register of the territorial community confirming registered place of residence (issued no more than 30 days before the visit) or a certificate of place of stay/residence;
- student ID of the approved format or extract/certificate from the Unified State Electronic Education Database (EDEBO);
- colour photo 3×4 cm (it is taken free of charge at the application points);
- original receipt confirming payment for the card.
The document confirming student status must without fail be either a student ID of the approved format or a certificate/extract from EDEBO issued by the educational institution. A standard certificate from the place of study does not entitle you to apply for a student LeoKart.
You can submit your documents in several ways:
- through your university or college, if a centralised collection of applications has been organised there;
- online via the Citizen Portal;
- offline at LeoKart application points, by prior appointment via the electronic queue or the hotline;
- through banking institutions — at A-Bank branches or via the bank’s chatbot.
You can pay for the card:
- in the app, on the website or at EasyPay terminals;
- using the LKP «Lvivavtodor» bank details in any banking app (the bank details are published on the LeoKart website);
- directly at the Passenger Service Centre when applying.
When paying via a terminal, you must keep the original receipt. If payment is made via a banking app or website, you must print out the generated receipt — screenshots from a phone are not accepted.
Updating details and extending the card’s validity
If a passenger already has a personalised LeoKart and it is not damaged, there is no need to issue a new card. This applies in situations where:
- a pupil who had a school LeoKart has enrolled at a university or college and needs to change their profile from ‘school’ to ‘student’;
- a student has moved to another level of education (for example, started a bachelor’s or master’s programme) and needs to extend their concession period;
- a passenger previously used another concessionary LeoKart, for example as a child from a large family, and has now gained student status.
To update the profile, you need to prepare:
- original internal passport or ID card;
- tax number (RNOKPP);
- extract from the register of the territorial community confirming place of residence, issued no more than 30 days ago, or a certificate of place of stay/residence;
- valid student ID of the approved format or a current extract/certificate from EDEBO.
You can also submit data for updating through your educational institution (if a centralised submission system is in place), online via the Citizen Portal, or at LeoKart application points by prior appointment.
More detailed explanations on student and school LeoKarts are published by LKP «Lvivavtodor» on its information resources.
