The Unbreakable Mums Centre in Lviv is setting up its first mobile shelter

At Lviv’s Unbreakable Mums Centre, work is in its final stages to install the first mobile shelter, which will accommodate people during air-raid alerts. The structure is designed to hold up to 60 people at a time.

According to the institution, since the start of the full-scale war, Lviv has been steadily increasing the number of safe spaces: large municipal shelters in different parts of the city are being repaired and equipped, and protective rooms in schools and other municipal facilities are being upgraded.

Mobile shelters are being considered as a solution for areas where it is not possible to quickly build an underground structure. If this new format proves effective, similar units are planned for installation at other locations across the city.

The Centre places particular emphasis on the fact that thanks to the new shelter, mothers with children will no longer have to cover a long distance to reach a protective structure when an alert sounds — a safe space will be located literally just a few steps from where they live.
