The first nursery group for the very youngest children has started operating in Drohobych. It has been opened at Nursery School No. 6 “Veselka” on Hrushevskoho Street, where 10 children aged from 10 months to 1 year will be able to attend.
Preparatory work was carried out in the group’s premises: the space for children’s daily stay was arranged, with attention paid to safety, comfort and ensuring that the conditions meet the age-specific needs of the children. Particular attention was given to organising a gentle adaptation process and an individual approach to each child.
The opening of the group was attended by the Mayor, Taras Kuchma, Head of the Education Department Petro Shev’yak, Head of the Education Division Halyna Marchuk and Deputy Head of the Education Division for Preschool Education Vlada Yasikova. They inspected the refurbished premises and familiarised themselves with the conditions created for the youngest residents of Drohobych.
“We understand how important it is today to support young families and to create opportunities for them to combine raising children with work and professional fulfilment. The opening of the first nursery group for children from 10 months old is not just about new premises or additional places. It is another step towards ensuring that our families feel more confident, and that children from the earliest age receive proper attention, care and conditions for development,” said Taras Kuchma.
According to the leadership of the Education Department, the creation of such a group is a response to parents’ needs and an important stage in the development of the preschool education network in the community. From now on, parents will be able to use nursery services from when their child is 10 months old, which gives them more opportunities to plan their daily life and work.
The institution emphasises that the work of the new group has been organised with the children’s age-specific characteristics in mind, in order to provide them with a safe environment, care and conditions for harmonious development. The opening of the nursery group at Nursery School No. 6 “Veselka” is seen as a step towards a more accessible and modern preschool education system, focused on the needs of the children and parents of Drohobych.
