Every year on October 17, the student community celebrates its holiday – International Student Day. In Drohobych, this year, the mayor’s scholarships will be launched for talented young people who will participate and win the traditional “Student of the Year” competition. The whole point is that every year Drogobytsk Pedagogical University named after I.Frank holds a competition to identify talented students of the alma mater – “Student of the Year”. The competition is organized by the students’ trade union committee and student self-government. Awarding of winners takes place in 6 nominations.
As the mayor of Drohobych, Taras Kuchma, recently had a meeting with active students of the I.Frank University of Applied Sciences – during the dialogue, the head of the community said that he is ready to support and award scholarships to six gifted winners of the “Student of the Year” competition. They will be awarded the mayor’s prize in the amount of 1,000 hryvnias. In addition, it is proposed to introduce another nomination “Student – a multifaceted personality” and to award the nominee with a special cash prize and a cup.
The talented youth of Drohobych and students are the bright future of our state. They are entrusted with the most important function of rebuilding our state after the war. Therefore, we really want the students of our city not just to acquire knowledge, but already today to generate interesting thoughts and projects, as well as to cooperate with local authorities in matters of the development of Drohobych, improvement of its infrastructure and improvement of entertainment and recreational areas in the city for young people.
