On public transport serving routes within the Drohobych community, an extended list of concessions is in place for passengers. In addition to state guarantees, the local authorities have granted the right to free travel to pupils of general secondary education institutions.
Under nationwide regulations, free use of public transport is available to children with disabilities, children from large families (on presentation of the relevant certificate), as well as children under 6 years of age, provided they do not occupy a separate seat.
In the Drohobych community, these categories have been expanded to include schoolchildren who hold a Drohobych Resident Pupil Card. Thanks to the introduction of validation on public transport and the gradual roll-out of this card, the number of pupil journeys is recorded, and carriers are reimbursed for the cost of these journeys from the local budget.
Holders of the Drohobych Resident Pupil Card who attend schools in the community are entitled to 44 free journeys per month. The concession applies only during the school year. Free travel for schoolchildren will not be available during the summer holidays. The relevant clarifications are to be added to executive committee decisions No.102 “Про погодження тарифів на послуги з перевезення пасажирів у приміському автомобільному транспорті на маршрутах загального користування Дрогобицької міської територіальної громади” and No.158 “Про встановлення тарифів на послуги з перевезення пасажирів на міських автобусних маршрутах загального користування у м. Дрогобич”.
To monitor the quality and safety of services, public transport in the community has been equipped with video cameras. This makes it possible to resolve disputes promptly and prevent abuses both by passengers and by drivers.
