Hydrological Situation in Lviv Region: Floods and Forecasts

In the Lviv region, water levels are rising due to intense rainfall.

According to the hydrometeorological network, the Lviv region received between 4 and 106 mm of rainfall in a day. This led to the formation of a rain flood on the rivers in the region. On the rivers of the Dniester basin, water levels rose by 7-96 cm, while on the mountain tributaries a decrease of 6-27 cm was observed. The maximum water levels occurred on July 10.

On the plain rivers of the Sian, Western Bug basins and the upper reaches of the Styr, water levels rose by 19-104 cm. In the next two days, a decrease in water levels is expected on the Dniester basin rivers, except for the lower reaches, where a rise of 0.3-0.7 m is possible.

On the plain rivers, the flood formation is expected to continue with possible partial flooding of economic objects and agricultural lands.
