A new two-storey building is planned to be constructed in the courtyard of nursery No. 3 on Konovaltsia Street in Lviv. All costs for design and construction will be covered by the investor, and once the works are completed, the building will be transferred into municipal ownership. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning, Liubomyr Zubach.
The new building will be located within the grounds of the existing nursery and connected to the current building by a covered walkway. According to the visualisation, the structure will feature large windows and timber cladding on the façade, and in front of it there will be a landscaped green area with trees, flowerbeds and playgrounds. The City Council notes that the institution’s grounds are sufficiently spacious, so there will be enough room both for the new premises and for children’s outdoor activities.
We are talking about two storeys. On the ground floor there will be a large assembly hall and lobby, which the nursery currently lacks. The first floor will have a timber façade, and there we are planning rooms, changing areas, toilets, snack bars — everything needed for preschoolers. The costs associated with the development of the design and cost-estimate documentation and the execution of the works will be borne by the developer, who plans to implement their projects in this district. Therefore, it is logical that they have expressed a wish to contribute to the development of the social infrastructure here. As is known, in Lviv this is already a common and positive practice, — Liubomyr Zubach
The design and cost-estimate documentation is to be drawn up in the near future. The City Council expects to complete the design stage as quickly as possible so that construction works can begin next year.
The network of preschool institutions is also being expanded in other districts of Lviv: in particular, in the Pid Holoskom neighbourhood, the construction of a new nursery for 120–200 places is planned, where a time capsule for the future building was recently laid.
