In Lviv, a Family-Type Home for Children with Disabilities Has Been Created

A unique Family-Type Children’s Home has opened in Lviv. It accommodates five children with disabilities under the care of foster mother Marina Boronina. They are supported by social specialists, creating a warm family atmosphere.

This is already the 13th such home in the Lviv community, the third since the start of the war. The children living here actively engage in creativity and socialisation, preparing themselves for adult life. Marina, an educator from Dnipro, has undergone a challenging journey with the children and now wishes for them to feel like a real family.

Thanks to the support of UNICEF and the city, each child receives necessary social supervision. The Lviv Division of “The Children’s Service” plans to open another such home in Dublyany to assist orphans and children deprived of parental care.

Interestingly, 10 out of the 13 such homes in the Lviv community have been created in cooperation with public and religious organisations, highlighting the importance of community support in such matters.
