Tomorrow, December 14, Lviv will host the final stage of the all-Ukrainian school olympiads “KIT: Quests and Tests,” organized by the digital platform NIT “Education and Technologies.” The total prize fund for the event is 640,000 UAH.
Olympiad Details
This modern competition format is designed for students in grades 3–10 across various subjects:
- Grades 3–4 – multidisciplinary test.
- Grades 5–6 – multidisciplinary test.
- Grades 7–8 – English language.
- Grades 9–10 – mathematics.
The first stage, held on November 29, attracted 5,772 participants. The top 10 performers in each grade level advanced to the final round.
Prize Fund
Winners of the final stage will receive monetary prizes:
- 1st place – 50,000 UAH.
- 2nd place – 20,000 UAH.
- 3rd place – 10,000 UAH.
Purpose of the Competition
According to Andriy Zakalyuk, head of the Lviv Education Department, the olympiad aims to instill an appreciation for knowledge in students.
“We want children to understand that their knowledge holds both educational and financial value. Motivating young people to learn is a challenge in the era of gadgets and social media. Therefore, creative lessons, competitions, and events like these are vital tools to spark their interest,” he explained.
Event Highlights
The final stage will feature a celebratory atmosphere, including an award ceremony, entertainment zones, catering, and additional gifts for participants.
The Education Department noted that KIT olympiads have been held in Lviv since 2023. Three competitions were organized that year, with one conducted in 2024.
