In Lviv, within a new residential quarter at 3a Naukova Street, a four-storey school for 780 pupils will be built at the developer’s expense. Once construction is complete, the educational institution will be transferred into the community’s municipal ownership. This was reported during a meeting of the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
The project provides for a modern building with an area of around 4,200 sq m. The school is to be implemented in a contemporary architectural concept, with spacious rooms and panoramic windows.
The city’s Department of Architecture and Spatial Development clarified that, under its guarantee obligations, the developer will finance the construction of the municipal school, with an estimated cost of UAH 45 million, and act as the general contractor. The company has also undertaken to complete the facility within three years from the moment the permitting documentation is obtained.
From the very start of planning the residential quarter, the city stressed the need to develop social infrastructure in order to provide future residents with nursery schools, schools and recreational areas.
In addition to the school, the developer has revised its decisions regarding the quarter’s public spaces and social facilities. The project includes pedestrian walkways, sports grounds, other elements of public and social infrastructure, as well as the possibility of accommodating private educational institutions.
To improve residents’ safety, an underground shelter will be installed within the underground car park of the new quarter.
The City Council also reminds the public of another similar project: in Levandivka, construction of a primary school for 300 pupils at 8 Rudnenska Street is nearing completion. There, the investor is building a facility with a swimming pool and an underground shelter, which, once completed, will likewise be transferred into the city’s municipal ownership.
