Renovated Vocational School for Welders and Auto Mechanics Opens in Stryi with Over €1.5 Million in Investments

A newly modernized vocational school has opened in Stryi, Lviv region, offering updated training programs for electric gas welders and vehicle repair mechanics. The upgrade was part of the EU4Skills initiative aimed at improving Ukraine’s vocational education infrastructure.

🏗️ Key upgrades implemented:

  • Full replacement of engineering and utility systems;
  • Comprehensive thermal modernization to improve energy efficiency;
  • Establishment of modern workshops and classrooms with advanced equipment.

🛠️ Equipment procured includes:

  • Welding and auto repair tools;
  • Educational stands for automotive training;
  • STEM equipment;
  • Modern computer systems for lab use.

The total cost of the installed equipment reached €542,000, while overall investments into the school exceeded €1.5 million.

🔬 Students will now have access to laser and plasma technologies used in modern industrial maintenance and repair of wheeled vehicles.

💶 Project funding and implementation:

  • Funded by the European Union;
  • Implemented by Germany’s KfW Development Bank, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
