
The first day of the new academic year at the Svydnytsia Gymnasium began with the ceremonial unveiling of a memorial plaque in honour of the fallen defender Volodymyr Kotsun. It was at this school that he studied, and it was in Svydnytsia that he spent his childhood and teenage years.
The memorial plaque was installed on the facade of the educational institution to serve as a daily reminder to pupils and villagers of the feat of Volodymyr Kotsun and his service to Ukraine.
The unveiling was attended by the fallen defender’s relatives, pupils and teachers of the gymnasium, and residents of Svydnytsia. Together with the community, the memory of the defender was also honoured by the Yavoriv Mayor Ihor Hrabovskyi.
Participants in the event stressed that preserving the memory of fallen defenders is important for educating the younger generation and understanding the price of freedom.
