At a meeting of the executive committee of Truskavets City Council on 4 September, the network of general secondary, pre-school and out-of-school education institutions of the Truskavets territorial community for the 2026–2027 academic year was approved.
The Head of the Education Department of Truskavets City Council, Orest Lobyк, reported that in September 2026, 3,764 pupils (last year there were 3,802) started the school year in the community’s 8 schools. A total of 164 classes have been formed, two fewer than in the 2025–2026 academic year: one class has been cut at both the Modrychi and Oriiv schools. The decline in pupil numbers is occurring mainly in primary school, although the situation in the community is assessed as not critical.
By individual general secondary education institutions, the network is as follows:
- Secondary School No. 1 in Truskavets – 28 classes, 724 pupils;
- Educational Complex “Secondary School No. 2 – Gymnasium” – 42 classes, 1,136 pupils;
- Secondary School No. 3 in Truskavets – 32 classes, 912 pupils;
- Dobrohostiv General Secondary Education Institution named after I. Boberskyi – 18 classes, 374 pupils;
- Ulychne General Secondary Education Institution – 20 classes, 375 pupils;
- Oriiv General Secondary Education Institution – 10 classes, 95 pupils;
- Modrychi General Secondary Education Institution – 10 classes, 112 pupils;
- Stanylia General Secondary Education Institution – 4 classes, 36 pupils.
The community’s schools will run 10 after-school groups, and new speech therapist posts have also been introduced.
In the pre-school sector, provision has been made for 50 groups, including 11 special and 6 inclusive groups. A total of 798 children have been enrolled in kindergartens, 17 fewer than in the previous academic year.
Out-of-school education will be provided in particular by the House of Pupil Creativity, which will run 31 clubs in 68 groups, and by the Children’s and Youth Sports Club “Sportovets”, with 8 sections in 48 groups.
The executive committee also approved the network of art schools. The Roman Savytskyi Truskavets School of Arts will have 410 pupils, and the Dobrohostiv Children’s Music School – 120. Over the five years of the existence of the Truskavets United Urban Territorial Community, the number of pupils at the Dobrohostiv Children’s Music School has increased from 60 to 120.
The cost of tuition at the art schools of the Truskavets community has been increased by 20 UAH per month. Fees now range from 320 to 360 UAH, depending on the programme. Concessions are available: some children are fully exempt from payment, and a second child from the same family pays half the fee. Details are provided to parents by the school administrations.
In addition to education matters, the executive committee adopted a number of other decisions. In particular, the amount of the subvention to support the work of a veterans’ support specialist for 2026 has been increased, development and operating expenditure under the Education Department’s budget programmes has been reallocated, and a decision has been taken on registering citizens on the housing waiting list.
A temporary commission has been set up under the executive committee to inspect the condition of housing intended for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons. Permits have also been granted for the placement of outdoor advertising.
The executive committee has authorised the arrangement of a guest car park with 6 parking spaces near the building at 22 Sahaidachnoho Street, following an application from the Hetman-2 condominium association. Tariffs have been approved for paid services provided by the Municipal Non-Commercial Enterprise “Truskavets Primary Health Care Centre”, in connection with the expansion of the range of services offered by specialist doctors.
An additional deputy head post has been introduced into the staffing structure of the Truskavets School of Arts. Overall, members of the executive committee supported almost all draft decisions, with the exception of the proposal to transfer a more powerful generator to the Children’s and Youth Sports Club “Sportovets”. The meeting lasted just over an hour.
