In Drohobych, at Preschool Institution No. 2 named after Father Kyrylo Seletskyi, a new nursery group has been opened for the community’s youngest residents. It will be able to accommodate 12 children aged from one year.
The official opening was attended by the Mayor Taras Kuchma, Head of the Education Department Petro Shev’yak, Head of the Education Division Halyna Marchuk and Deputy Head of the Preschool Education Division Vlada Yasikova. A separate space has been created in the nursery for the little ones, arranged with due regard to the developmental needs of very young children.
The premises have been designed with comfort and safety in mind so that the children’s first days at the preschool institution are as easy and beneficial as possible. According to the Mayor, even in today’s challenging circumstances the community must ensure a full and safe childhood for the little ones and respond to parents’ requests regarding the opening of new groups.
“Today we have one more such group, and ahead lies the work of opening nursery groups in other institutions across the community,” noted Mayor Taras Kuchma.
The opening of the nursery at Preschool Institution No. 2 continues the expansion of the network of groups for very young children in the Drohobych community. Previously, a similar group for the youngest pupils was opened at Preschool Institution No. 6 “Veselka”.
The Education Department stresses that the need for nursery groups remains: the department continues to receive requests from parents. Therefore, from the new year they plan to work on creating such groups in other preschool institutions in the community, guided by the number of applications and the actual needs of residents.
The community emphasises that each new nursery group is not only additional places in the nursery, but also support for young parents, greater opportunities for families, and a step towards ensuring that the youngest children grow up in a comfortable, safe and friendly environment.
