At Zhydachiv General Secondary Education Institution No. 2, almost a thousand hot lunches are prepared every day in the refurbished kitchen block. More than 500 portions are intended for the school’s own pupils, while over 470 lunches are delivered daily to schoolchildren from rural educational institutions within the community.
With the start of the new academic year, the school has streamlined the timetable for lunch breaks and created additional seating in the canteen. This has made it possible to organise meals so that children can eat calmly in comfortable conditions, without queues or rushing.
The menu at the institution has been drawn up in line with the requirements of the modern school catering reform. Every day pupils are offered fresh vegetables and fruit, meat and fish dishes, cheeses and nutritious side dishes.
The school notes that children are keen to try new dishes, choose their favourite options and gradually develop healthy eating habits from an early age.
