Concerts, flash mobs and master classes: how Vyshyvanka Day will be held at the Lviv Moscow Art Theater

Vyshyvanka Day is traditionally celebrated every year on the third Thursday of May. This year the holiday will be held on May 18.

However, festive events in the Lviv City Territorial Community will begin the day before. Lviv residents and guests can attend concerts, a lecture by a master embroiderer, flash mobs, exhibitions and master classes.

The schedule of festive events for Vyshyvanka Day:

Wednesday, May 17

– 5:00 p.m. – Concert by students of the bandura class of the LMS No. 3 and guests – students of the bandura class of the S. Lyudkevych LMFC “Colorful embroidery”, the Great Hall of the Lviv Music School No. 3 (219 Zamarstynivska St.);

– 19:00 – Concert “Vyshivanka – the soul of the people”, Lviv Art School No. 7 (Bryukhovychi village, 27 V. Ivasyuka St.);

Thursday, May 18

– 1:00 p.m. – Meeting with the master embroiderer “The Code of the Ukrainian embroiderer”, Lviv Municipal Library, Branch Library of the village Pidbirtsi (Pidbirtsi village, 149a Mytr. Yukhimovycha St., premises of the People’s House);

– 14:00 – Ethno-exhibition “Fashionable brand with age-old tradition” Photo contest and flash mob – Lviv Municipal Library, branch #4 (10 B. Antonenka-Davydovych str.);

– 4:00 p.m. – “Higher postcard for a warrior” – master class by students of the Lviv State College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after I.Trusha for students of the art department of Lviv School of Arts No. 5, Lviv School of Arts No. 5 (Khutorivka St., 28);

– 4:30 p.m. – Presentation of the art album “Embroidery of Zhydachivshchyna”: based on clothing samples from the collection of the Lviv Skansen. As part of the presentation, there will be a conversation with the author of the project, Iryna Vachkova, on the topic “How to work with authenticity”, Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in Lviv named after Klymentia Sheptytskyi, a farmer from the village of Lybokhora (1 Chernecha Hora St.);

Sunday, May 21

– 14:00 – Opening of the exhibition of elements of traditional Hutsul embroidery, Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in Lviv named after Klymentia Sheptytskyi, a small exhibition hall in the shelter (1 Chernecha Gora Street).
