On September 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the city of Lviv, on the square in front of the monument to Taras Shevchenko, the ceremonial event “Wedding in the Lviv Forties” will take place.
“The culture of Galicia, in particular Lviv region, is rich in various wedding rites and customs that have come to us from the distant past. A wedding in Galicia has always been a colorful and original event, full of original customs. We want to demonstrate some of them during this event,” the organizers of the event – the Educational and Methodological Center of Culture and Arts of the Lviv Region – note.
During the holiday, their creative work will be demonstrated:
Amateur drama group “Oberig” of the People’s House of the village Lviv magpies of the Murovan territorial community (head – Halyna Galyanta);
Exemplary amateur dance ensemble “Lelis” KZ “People’s House of the village Novy Yarychiv” Novoyarychiv settlement council (head – Lyudmila Kobak);
As part of the event, there will be an exhibition of creative works by folk masters of the Lviv region
