Spring in Lviv promises to be a real feast for the eyes, as the city streets will feature over 165,000 tulips and more than 5,000 trees, shrubs, and perennials. The Lviv City Council reports that among the city’s main adornments will be tulips of an incredibly deep yellow colour.
It is worth noting that such a number of tulips has been made possible thanks to cooperation with Dutch entrepreneurs, who for the fourth consecutive year have been supplying Lviv with flower bulbs. This is not just about flowers, but also about the support and friendship between the two countries.
Flower locations will be arranged in parks, squares, and also on numerous city roundabouts. In particular, new flowerbeds can be seen on Vynnychenka, Lemkivska, and other streets of the city. Furthermore, in Sykhiv, one of the largest cherry blossom avenues is growing, which will become a popular spot for walks and photos.
The blooming will begin from the first half of April, with the best time for walks around Lviv’s flowering locations being mid-April to early May. Visitors and residents of the city will be able to use the updated blooming map for the convenience of finding new flower locations.
