Lviv Solemnly Raised the Flag on National Flag Day

Lviv celebrates the National Flag Day of Ukraine.

This morning, on Stryiska Street, near the Land Forces Academy, the National Flag was solemnly raised. The event was attended by the First Deputy Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Moskalenko, top officials of the region, clergy, and the public. A veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, Oleksandr Kutsal, who fought in Donbas, particularly near Bakhmut, and lost both legs during mortar shelling, was invited to raise the Ukrainian flag. After raising the flag, all attendees sang the National Anthem of Ukraine. To conclude the event, a special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to National Flag Day took place.

Recall that this weekend, Ukraine celebrates National Flag Day and Independence Day. As is tradition, numerous events will take place in Lviv, including concerts, lectures, and fairs. In Lviv, the memory of fallen Heroes who died for Ukraine’s independence will also be honored.
