Traditionally, on May 27, the world celebrates the Day of Emergency Medical Assistance.
Today we congratulate those who are on the front lines of saving Ukrainian lives – emergency medical workers – with a professional holiday.
Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv OVA, noted in his greetings.
“They transport patients for treatment abroad, take evacuation trains with people injured by shelling, transport them to medical facilities, take care of the repatriation of Ukrainians who received the necessary help in foreign hospitals – new responsibilities that emergency specialists have taken on since the beginning full-scale war,” the head of the region emphasized.
He noted that the workers of the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine are the only ones in Ukraine to evacuate the wounded by medical bus, in particular abroad, as well as by “ambulance” ambulances. This happens several times a week.
“The usual tasks of emergency medical workers have not disappeared either – visits, hospitalizations and intensive care. Taking into account the number of forced migrants who moved to Lviv Oblast due to active hostilities in other regions, the frequency of calls has increased significantly. We see and appreciate your work. Thank you for your professionalism and humanity! We are glad that Ukraine is celebrating the Day of Emergency Medical Aid for the second time with the whole world,” Maksym Kozytskyi said.
