Unlike many other settlements, Truskavets has never kept a historical record of its founding or the first written mention.
This was reported by the Truskavets City Council.
The tradition of counting the years from 1827, the date when the first mineral water baths were built in Truskavets and the first vacationers came here for recreation, is firmly rooted. And from that moment, an ordinary village, like many others in Galicia, began a completely different, new, unusual history, the history of a health resort that was destined to become the resort capital of Ukraine.
The date of our resort’s birthday celebration is also symbolic – it is the Day of the Medical Worker. Since July 27 falls on different days every year, mostly on weekdays, the Truskavets City Council decided in 2023 to celebrate the City Day on the last Sunday of July.
So today, on July 28, Truskavets recalls the history of the health resort, summarizes the results of the past year, and traditionally unites local residents and guests in a festive concert and gala program. Traditionally, the guests of the resort and the celebration of the City Day are resort guests, internally displaced persons, guests from neighboring towns and villages, as well as representatives of our partner cities from Poland.
At 16.00 on the central stage of the resort, the concert program was opened by TV presenter Natalia Kudryashova and People’s Artist of Ukraine Gurban Abbasov with a concert of the organizers, laureates and winners of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani friendship contest. The concert was attended by Andriy Bozhensky, Olena Chastnikova, Daria Samarets, Marianna Bragina, Victoria Chupryna, and Iryna Letnyanka.
Then the baton was taken up by the hosts Oksana Chipak (singer) and Maksym Uhrynovskyi (violin virtuoso), and the song marathon continued with a dance performance by the Art Dance Ensemble of the Modrychi Folk House (directed by Khrystyna Kushnir) and the pupils of the Truskavets Energy Studio Dance School (directed by Maryna Melnykovych), which was the opening of the year.
The official part of the celebration included a greeting from Mayor Andriy Kulchynsky and a ceremony of awarding certificates. In his speech, the head of the Truskavets community, Andrii Kulchynskyi, emphasized the assistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the sincerity and openness of the residents of Truskavets who sheltered tens of thousands of IDPs, and the sacrifice, patriotism, steadfastness and freedom-loving nature of our residents. He thanked those residents of Truskavets who, despite the difficult times, find time, energy and opportunities to bring the Ukrainian Victory closer.
A diploma from the Truskavets City Council on the occasion of the City Day was awarded to Olha Futalash, a person of great soul, the head of the Dzherelnyi sanatorium (Modrychi village), who has sheltered hundreds of IDPs.
Diplomas of the Drohobych District Administration were awarded to:
– therapists of the Truskavets Central City Hospital Olha Vanivska and Vasyl Voloshynskyi and anesthesiologist of the Truskavets City Hospital Oleksandr Ilyin.
The award “Honorary Citizen of Truskavets” was presented to Petro Bilas, Honored Coach of Ukraine, military serviceman, father of the fallen soldier-Hero.
A pleasant surprise for all the participants of the concert was the performance of Honored Artist of Ukraine, actor, and great friend of Truskavets Mykhailo Hrytskan.
Galyna Koval, Director of the Museum of the History of the Resort City, invited the participants of the new museum tour to take a trip to Truskavets together with the participants of the museum tour from the stage. After a short technical break due to rain and light switching, the Boryslav Batiars took the stage, followed by a performance by The DOOX.
The concert program was prepared by the Truskavets City Council’s Department of Culture (headed by Tetiana Tatomyr).
At the end of today’s wonderful day, we once again congratulate all Truskavets residents and guests of the resort on the City Day! Happy Birthday, dear Truskavets! Happiness and goodness to you!
