Hriada marks 526th anniversary of first written record and raises over UAH 90,000 for the Armed Forces

The village of Hriada has marked the 526th anniversary of its first written mention. To celebrate the occasion, as well as the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, a charity event was organised for residents and guests, during which more than 90,000 hryvnias were raised in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The celebrations took the form of a charity festival. The programme included dance and vocal performances, fairground rides, bouncy castle entertainment, as well as a fashion show by a Ukrainian brand. As is traditional for the community, a volunteer auction was held, with the proceeds also directed to meet the needs of the military.

The Head of the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development, Nataliia Alieksieieva, recognised volunteers and volunteer groups that consistently support Ukrainian defenders. They were presented with letters of appreciation from the Mayor of Lviv.

Certificates were awarded to the staff of the Hriada Preschool Educational Institution of Lviv City Council, which has been involved in volunteer activities in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion. Special thanks for promoting traditional and original pysanka art were given to local craftswoman Nadiia Hrek.

The information and photos were provided by Lviv City Council.
