For City Day in Lviv, a major sporting event — the “NewRun Lviv Half Marathon” — will take place. The event will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of May, bringing together both experienced runners and beginners. Sunday, the 3rd of May, will be the main day of the races, with the start and finish occurring near the Opera House on Svobody Avenue, 28. As a result, certain public transport routes will be altered.
Participants will be able to choose from various distances: a half marathon of 21 km for the experienced, 10 km for regular training, 5 km for beginners and amateurs, and 1 km for novices. Children’s races are planned at distances of 500, 300, and 100 metres. An online run is also available. During the event, a charity fundraiser “Running for Recovery” will be held to support veterans.
Routes that will change: buses No. 1A, No. 3A, No. 5A, No. 6A, No. 8A, and others. The main changes will occur between 8:50 and 13:00. Readers should take note of these changes to avoid inconvenience when travelling around the city on these days.
